Summer Holiday Show review

Our November production - Summer Holiday went down a storm with audiences
and received a fantastic review from NODA. It was a great
opportunity to showcase some up and coming young local talent. Read the NODA review below...
Review by Peter Breach from Noda:-
This musical gave older members of the audience a chance to enjoy
recalling happy memories of their youth and provided younger members
with an opportunity to hear pop music that had well- structured tunes
and audible lyrics. It was heartening to see the predominantly young
cast take on prominent roles which they performed with confidence and
enthusiasm; there were particularly strong vocal performances from Rob
Callaby (as Don) and Charlotte Hicks (as Barbara Winters/Bobby). Senior
members of the company, Carol Spinks and Richard Laight,
performed their comedy roles with relish. Full marks must go to the
very efficient stage crew for the speed at which they carried out set
changes that frequently required a double decker bus to appear on stage.
The varied choreography was skilfully devised and energetically
performed. The music provided by the band had a really authentic sixties
sound, (I know because I was around at that time!), and the blending of
vocal harmonies was most pleasant to listen to. This was a lively team
effort that delivered great entertainment for the young and young at
heart. Well done, what a shame the ‘gremlins’ occasionally got into the
sound system!
