A concert organised by local singers has raised £1,500.00 for BOS Musical Theatre Group.

The donation came from the proceeds of a very successful fund raising concert on 7th September . Entitled “Something Wonderful?, the concert played to over 120 people and the eight performers, with the support of musical director Lynne Loose, entertained the audience with a variety of hits from great musicals of the 20th century.

Andrea Townshend, who directed the show with Deborah Atkinson at Boston’s Centenary Methodist Church, handed over the cheque to the group’s chairman, Richard Laight.

Mr Laight said: “We are thrilled to receive this fantastic donation and would like to thank everyone involved in this event and especially those who attended for their generosity.?

BOSMTG, which formed in 1964 under the name Boston Operatic Society, performs two shows every year at Blackfriars Arts Centre and their next production will be ‘The King and I’ 25th - 30th November 2013. The show was a London and Broadway hit and a 1956 film for which Yul Brynner won an Academy Award.
