Sondheim's game-changing musical is a sophisticated and honest look at modern, adult relationships.
From musical theatre's most renowned composer, Company is largely regarded as a trailblazer of the dark-comedy, modern-musical genre and the winner of 7 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Lyrics and Best Book.
Company features a brilliantly brisk and energetic score containing many of Stephen Sondheim's best known songs. The strength of the piece lies in its vivid yet real characters, meaning impressive technical aspects aren't necessary to convey the story. It can be told as effectively with a cavalcade of automated set pieces as it can with a chair or two. Every audience member will see reflections of themselves in at least one of the characters on stage.
We have set up an Audition Facebook page where you can download the information for auditions.
At both Audition days we will do individual men's singing auditions first then the women will join us so we can work through the scenes all together then we will finish with the individual women's singing auditions. If you just want to be part of the Chorus you will only need to do the singing part of auditions.

3/NEW DATE Thu 9th Dec – Men from 7.30pm women to join at 8.30pm. Finish by 10.30pm in Revue Bar

5/Follow up audition dates will be organized if required.
Blackfriars are now requesting that masks are worn whilst in the building so we ask that you respect that when in the public areas.
After the recent rise in cases we will ask you to wear a clear visor whilst auditioning in groups and to keep a safe distance from others when not. Please bring your own if you have one but we will have some new ones available upon arrival. Depending on restrictions and the virus at the time we may undertake rehearsals in clear visors for some additional safety – please speak with us if this is an issue.
We also ask that you take a LFD test before attending auditions if you can – we are aware that anyone who has had Covid in the last 90 days are not advised to do so. Again if this is an issue please speak with any one of us directly. LFD testing will most likely continue to be in place when rehearsals start next year. It is not 100% but we feel it is prudent considering the recent rise in cases.

On the night of his 35th birthday, confirmed bachelor Robert contemplates his unmarried state. Over the course of a series of dinners, drinks, and even a wedding, his friends – “those good and crazy people [his] married friends” – explain the pro's and con's of taking on a spouse.
