We are proud to announce that this show was nominated for NODA Best Musical! Unfortunately we didn't win.
One of the most famous Gilbert and Sullivan Operettas "The Mikado".
The Mikado was first produced in the Savoy Theatre in 1884 and followed a period of interest in Japanese art and memorabilia in London. It was an instant success and ran for 652 performances before it was eventually replaced. It has been a hit of the Gilbert & Sullivan Operettas and has remained a favourite for over 130 years. As this show has a Japanese theme, we at BOS would like to extend our thoughts and commiserations to all those who have suffered at the recent tragedies which happened in Japan last month.
Our Production includes newcomers to the Society in Natalie Stafford (who helped to produce Pickwick last year) and who plays Yum-Yum , Pitti-Sing who is played by Abi Kingsley-Parker and Chloe Mercer (Peep-Bo). Two principals from Pickwick return in Rob Callaby as Nanki-Poo and Nick Scarborough who plays The Mikado. John Carter returns after several years to play Pooh-Bah. Three of our favourite performers return this year with Trevor Fenton (Ko-Ko), Abby Johnson (Katisha) & Stuart Bull (Pish-Tush).
